The Avenue Cinema in Nicosia screened a number of short films to present projects run by the Society for the Protection of Birds and Nature (Kuşkor). This included a film about the EU-funded Kukla Wetlands Project on the Eastern Mesarya Plain,
There was also a short nature film and animation as part of the campaign to end the hunting of turtle doves, an endangered species. The University of Exeter’s Muddy Duck Productions, focusing on environmental issues, produced the film after members of the production unit visited North Cyprus in July.
