Chief Cyprus negotiators Ozdil Nami and Andreas Mavroyiannis are meeting on Tuesday to prepare the ground for the leaders’ meeting in Mont Pèlerin, Switzerland next week.
Both men will be engaged in a series of lengthy meetings this week to prepare the agenda for the talks in Switzerland.
According to Greek Cypriot daily ‘Phileleftheros’, it is thought that President Akinci might be more flexible on the issue of security and guarantees, providing the Greek Cypriots are prepared to be less demanding about the return of land. The south has suggested a partial return of Guzelyurt (Morphou), whereas Akinci has refused to change his position on any return of land in Guzelyurt.
