New airline to operate between Turkey and TRNC

A new airline named Karpaz Airlines (KHY) will begin flights between Turkey and the TRNC in April.

Although the airline is privately owned, Turkey will remain in control of its flight schedules to and from the North.

Burak Atakan, head of the aviation union Hava-Sen, has confirmed that Karpaz Airlines will fly to Ercan airport.

He added that the company already has the necessary licenses and permissions and that the final touches were being made to enable the airline to become fully operational.

Other airlines flying to Ercan aiport include Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, OnurAir, Atlasjet and SunExpress.
