The Cyprus Turkish Public Officials Union (KTAMS) calculated the hunger threshold for a family of four to be 27,144 TL [approximately £787.18] as of September 30, 2024, Yeniduzen reported.
Based on the nutritional profile required for a healthy diet for a family of four, provided by the Inpatient Treatment Institutions Department under the Ministry of Health, and the average prices of these items supplied by the Statistical Institute, KTAMS determined the hunger threshold as of the end of September 2024 to be 27,144 TL.
According to the union’s study, the daily cost of a healthy diet is 233.00 TL for an adult woman (6,990 TL per month), 243.36 TL for an adult man (7,300.80 TL per month), 257.22 TL for a child aged 15-19 (7,716.60 TL per month), and 171.23 TL for a child aged 4-6 (5,136.90 TL per month).
