The problems with the construction of a new runway and terminal for Ercan Airport has been resolved says the Turkish Cypriot Minister of Public Works and Communication Ahmet Kaşif, ‘Kibris Postasi’ reports.
Speaking during a TV program on BRT, Kaşif said that the problem with the company who got the management of the airport is expected to be settled by the end of the week.
“95 percent of the problem is solved and I am hoping to be able to tell the company to start the construction of the new runway this week”, he said in reference to the problems with the aerodrome which belongs to a private airline company that was located on the site where the runway will be built.
Kaşif added that reconstruction of Geçitkale Airport will be their next project.
