In the fourth hearing of the Isias Hotel case at Adıyaman’s 3rd High Criminal Court, the interim ruling was announced. According to this decision, the next hearing will be held on 3 December 2024. The court decided that the detention of the accused, Ahmet Bozkurt, Mehmet Fatih Bozkurt, and Erdem Yıldız, would continue, while the other eight defendants will remain on trial but released on bail. Additionally, the court ruled that the status of the public officials, for whom an investigation permit has been issued, would be clarified, and it will also await the expert report from İzmir’s 9 Eylül University.

Following the decision, Hasan Esendağlı, the President of the Bar Association, made a press statement, saying, “A decision in line with our expectations was made. It was agreed that the expert report will be awaited, and therefore the case has been adjourned until 3 December“. Esendağlı noted that the expert report prepared by 9 Eylül University is expected to be added to the case file within a week. He also stated, “The release requests, which were strongly supported by the defence lawyers’ arguments, were rejected. The detention of the three defendants will continue“.

Esendağlı further remarked, “By 3 December, the expert report from 9 Eylül University will have been added to the file and reviewed by all parties. The defence will proceed based on this report“. He added, “Meanwhile, as discussed in the courtroom, the investigation concerning public officials is still ongoing. We will continue our efforts to ensure it is expedited..

Ruşen Karakaya, President of the Champion Angels Memorial Association, also addressed the press, stating, “We are here as families in search of justice. Justice must come through ‘probable intent.’ Once the third expert report is issued, all the facts will once again be presented to the court. We believe and know this to be true“.

Karakaya concluded by saying, “Our children will save Turkey’s future. We are fighting to ensure no more children die in Turkey. We made a promise, and we will keep it. On 3 December, we will be here again to demand justice through probable intent. Our Champion Angels and our tour guides are with us in spirit“.
