The Department of Public Works along with the Police Department have been cracking down on buildings that have been built without permits as well as construction works that have not been authorised. They have been officially sealing the buildings off.
A spokesman for Nicosia Council said that unless permits were applied for and granted, then they would be taking the owners of the buildings and construction sites to court.
