The Tourism Workers Union (TES) are still waiting to see whether or not their contract to manage the Dome Hotel in Kyrenia will be renewed.
The Greek Cypriot owned hotel is under the authority of the Vakif Foundation. In May this year, the employment contract between TES and the Vakif foundation expired. Since then, the contract has not been renewed.
Turkish Cypriot daily ‘Afrika’ writes that Prime Minister Tufan Erhurman has been vacillating over the decision, following a report presented to him on the issue of managing the hotel.
However, the PM is expected to announced his decision shortly. The newspaper points out that is has been six months since the contract expired and no decision has been taken as yet.
