No electricity from Turkey: KIB-TEK

Chairman of KIB-TEK Ismet Akim has said he is not in favour of importing electricity from Turkey on economic grounds.

He strongly condemned the latest statement made by finance minister Birikim Ozgur who is in favour of buying electricity from Turkey.

Recalling that finance minister Ozgur had disregarded the reports KIB-TEK had prepared in the past on this issue, Akim stated the following: “I prefer south Cyprus. And this is because, we breathe the same atmosphere and we are getting wet from the same rain. The distance between us is negligible.”
