Director of the Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (Kib-Tek), Dalman Aydın, stated that there have been issues in electricity production due to a boiler explosion at the thermal power plant, Yeniduzen reports.
Aydın explained that the electricity outages occurring across the country since yesterday were due to this issue, noting that the boiler problem has been resolved and will be operational by the end of the day.
Responding to questions from a TAK reporter on the matter, Aydın added that no power outages are planned for today.
Yesterday it was reported that the Chamber of Electrical Engineers (EMO), referring to the recent power outages in the country, stated that there was an urgent need for maintenance and investment in Kib-Tek power plants to prevent future disruptions and ensure continuous and reliable electrical service for the public. This is also in light of the increase in demand on electricity supply during the summer months.
