A major demonstration took place in Nicosia yesterday afternoon.
The demonstration took place in Kugulu Park and supported the Taksim Square protestors as well as being against the purchase of a riot control vehicle by the TRNC.
The protestors included a number of unions and walked from the park to the Turkish embassy, carrying placards and shouting slogans.
KTAMS union head, Ahmet Kaptan gave a speech criticising the purchase of the riot control vehicle and pointed out that the TRNC had far more important needs such as a fire fighting helicopter.
