The Pharmacists Association is objecting to the proposed opening of a pharmacy at Ercan airport. An application has been made to rent premises that is intended to be used to sell herbal medicines and vitamins.
The Association insists that these products are governed by the rules relating to all medicines and that it would be illegal to sell them through the Ercan outlet.
Association head, Fatma Azgin says that any such outlet would be against their rules and regulations. She maintains that the Association provides employment for many graduates and that this is just another attempt to make money for the company that runs Ercan airport.
Ms Azgin says that she expects the government to intervene and stop the application.
