Around ten tons of tomatoes originating from Greece were found to contain pesticides in amounts over the permitted limit.
The tomatoes, which were imported to North Cyprus via Turkey were originally supplied by Petra Fruits, which exports to several countries, worldwide.
Head of the TRNC’s Department of Agriculture Akif Unsal, said that the tomatoes had been removed from the market and destroyed.
