North Nicosia may decided to purchase Turkey’s water

Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Nazim Cavusoglu, has said that if North Nicosia municipal council decides to purchase water supplied by Turkey, it will start receiving water as from the weekend.

The council had previously rejected the use of the transferred water because it said the sale price was too high. However, according to the Turkish Cypriot press, it may change its mind in the coming days.

Cavusoglu added that following the distribution of water to Famagusta and Guzelyurt, the water will then be distributed to Yeni Iskele and the southern part of Mesaoria.
