North still not benefiting from its maritime location

Minister for Public Works and Communications, Kemal Durust (pictured on the left), who is currently holding contacts in Turkey, visited the Iskenderun Trade port in Hatay, yesterday.

During his visit, Durust, said, “Although the TRNC is on an island, we have not benefited enough from its maritime location”.

He noted: “We will create new economic models with motherland Turkey’s vision and support”, adding that their neighbours in the south will feel disturbed by this. He concluded by saying that they will continue to stay on course and that “a strong TRNC should be at the negotiating table”.
