Nurses hold lightning strike

The Association of Nurses and Midwives organised a lightning strike at Cengiz Topel Hospital today.

The strike is in protest at the government’s apparent inability to fill vacant medical staffing posts.

Head of the Association, Oguz Kose said that the authorisation papers were with the Prime Minister Irsen Kucuk and that if he signed these then all protests would stop.

Cengiz Topel Hospital is short of 5 nurses and 3 midwives and Mr Kose asks how this can be, given the number of politically motivated jobs handed to civil service employees.
