Traffic police inspected 1,922 vehicles across the country on Thursday, Kibris Postasi reported.
Out of the 1,922 inspected, 421 drivers were cited for a variety of traffic violations, 30 vehicles were banned from the road and one driver was arrested.
According to the Police Press Office, 175 of those cited were sentenced for speeding, 45 for failing to obey the traffic lights, 43 for using a mobile phone while driving, 21 for not wearing a seatbelt, 19 for driving without a licence, 7 for being uninsured, 5 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 2 for driving without a licence and without insurance, 2 for driving a motorcycle without wearing a protective headgear and 102 for other traffic offences.
