TRNC Foreign Minister Ozdil Nami met with the directors of Turkish Cypriot non-governmental organisations (NGO) living in London at the TRNC Representative’s London Office on Friday. He informed them about the latest stages of Cyprus negotiation process.
At the meeting, Nami conveyed details about the current economic situation in the TRNC and emphasised the continuing importance of the London Turkish Cypriot community’s full support of the TRNC. He also listened to the NGO directors problems and replied to their questions.
Within the framework of his contacts, Nami met with Turkish Cypriot media in London and evaluated his contacts in London and the negotiation process.
Nami also met with UK Minister of State for Justice and Civil Liberties and Deputy Leader of Liberal Democrats Rt. Hon. Simon Hughes.
The Cyprus problem and negotiation process were discussed during their meeting. Nami pointed out that the reason for deadlocks in the negotiation process is that the past convergences adopted by Talat-Christofias were agreed by the Turkish Cypriot side but not by Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades.
