Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay is in New York to hold contacts with United Nations officials.
Özersay’s visit is being made during a week when intensive consultations will be made on the extension of mandate of the UNFICYP and on the Cyprus report to be discussed at the UN Security Council later.
Alongside the UN officials, Özersay will also hold meetings with officials from related countries.
Issuing a message on his social media account before his departure for New York, Özersay said, “Our aim is to make our voice heard in the international arena and to protect our rights and benefits.”
