Investigators into the two-man light aircraft crash near Geçitkale Airport have completed their investigations and will prepare a report on the accident that occurred on 29 October.
The investigation team affiliated to the Ministry of Transportation and the Transportation Safety Review Centre discovered a partially burnt mobile phone and a camera card. These items were taken to Ankara for further investigation. The Italian-made engine will also undergo further inspection.
The preliminary report is expected to be published within one months. A final report will be take one year to produce.
Both the expert team and the autopsy reports indicate that both pilots were died instantly upon impact. In addition, it was determined that all documents such as registration, airworthiness, insurance and pilot licenses of the aircraft were complete, and that the aircraft was flying in accordance with all national and international aviation rules and that there were no deficiencies in the procedures.
Reports say that the plane had been in the air for around 30 minutes and the control tower had not received any calls from the pilots.
