Party leader calls for halt on granting citizenships

Leader of the United Cyprus Party (BKP) Izzet Izcan has called on the government to stop granting new citizenships, because this would create more problems in the Cyprus negotiations.

In a written statement, Izcan also argued that uncontrolled population increase will create new social and economic problems for the country. He then called on the government to “stop making this mistake”.

Izcan further accused the government for not taking any action to solve the country’s internal problems and for doing nothing to support the Cyprus negotiations

He also described as “unacceptable”, recent criticisms made by Prime Minister Huseyin Ozgurgun of President Akinci, about the way he conducts the Cyprus negotiations.
