Namik Seven from the village of Kuzucuk village was arrested on 26th February after a Beretta pistol and 63 live bullets were found in a search of his bedroom.
Yesterday, Mr Seven appeared at Famagusta Criminal Court, where the police explained that they had searched his house after obtaining a search warrant. The 9mm Beretta and bullets were found under his bed.
Mr Seven testified that the pistol was an heirloom from his father. Police will be carrying out ballistic tests to prove if this is true and also to ensure that the revolver was not used in any shootings.
Mr Seven was bound to be held for two days while these tests are carried out
