PM Ahmet Davutoğlu to visit North Cyprus next week

Turkey’s recently appointed Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu will make his first visit abroad to North Cyprus and Azerbaijan later this month, in line with the country’s state traditions, Turkish daily ‘Hurriyet’ reports.

Davutoğlu will be visit Turkish Cyprus on 16th September and then Baku, Azerbaijan, from 19-20th September, sources from the Prime Minister’s office say.

The former foreign minister, was appointed to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s previous post as leader of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and prime minister following Erdoğan’s election as the head of state on 10th August.

As is traditional, President Erdoğan also made his first official visits abroad to North Cyprus and Azerbaijan in early September.
