Prime Minister Sibel Siber made an announcement after the ending of the meeting of the Council of Ministers. She said that the last government had left the finances in a mess including unpaid bills for electricity and other items and that she was waiting for funds from Turkey with which to pay Civil Servants.
As an example of the mess the finances were left in, she cited the fact that the last government had not banked TL 30 million of VAT payments but had spent it instead.
It has just been announced that the necessary funding has come through from Turkey and that all civil servants will be paid in full.
