PM Yorgancioglu won’t run again for CTP leadership

Prime Minister and leader of the Republican Turkish Party – United Forces (CTP-BG) Ozkan Yorgancioglu has announced that he does not intend to run for the party leadership in the CTP’s upcoming congress.

Replying to a question by reporters after casting his vote whether there would be early elections, Yorgancioglu said that he did not think that the people want another election. He noted that four elections had been held during his term as leader of the CTP, adding that “besides the economic burden, elections create tensions within society”.

Asked whether a change is expected in the administration of the party or not, Yorgancioglu said that the CTP-BG party congress, which was initially scheduled to take place in October or November, could be brought forward by several months.
