Police drug ‘sting’ in South fails

The Greek Cypriot drug squad (IKAN) were left with red faces when they lost track of 20 kilos of drugs during a recent operation and therefore could not make any arrests.

‘Politis’ newspaper says that the drugs disappeared during a police operation last Tuesday.

The drug squad were tipped off that there would be a major drug trade in the Limassol area. Accordingly they set up a trap and observed three people carrying in drugs and hiding them. These drugs were then all picked up by another man who left, giving police the slip.
