Police report that there were 77 vehicle collisions on the roads between 16-22 September. The report says that 23 people were injured in the accidents last week.
Speeding was the cause of 25 of the accidents, 17 by failing to stop at the intersection, 15 by following too closely the vehicle in front, 10 by careless driving and 10 due other factors.
Nicosia had the highest number of collisions with 23, closely followed by 22 in Kyrenia, 21 in Famagusta, 6 in Iskele and 5 in Güzelyurt.
