Preparations for Fenced-off Maras Inventory Begin

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay, and Vakıflar İdaresi [Foundations] General Manager Ibrahim Benter met to discuss the inventory project for Maras/Varosha.

Foreign Minister Özersay said that “The elements that the study will include and how they can benefit from the works that has been done by the Foundation so far, and how the Foundation administration can contribute to this process as a stakeholder, were discussed”.

After the meeting, Özersay stated that they had received information about two separate projects prepared to academic standards in relation to the fenced-off town of Maraş and exchanged views with researchers and civil society organisations who contributed to the project.

The foreign minister said that they will meet with the political party leaders and former Presidents today and tomorrow and that they will have a meeting with President Mustafa Akıncı on Thursday.

Özersay noted that they will continue to meet with a number of academics and non-governmental organisations working on Maraş on Friday.
