President Mustafa Akıncı, who has completed his round of meetings in New York, returns home on Wednesday. Akıncı and his delegation is expected to arrive at Ercan Airport at 15.20 tomorrow.
Akıncı has been in New York to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
The President shared the views of the Turkish Cypriot side regarding the Cyprus problem during his meeting with the UN Secretary-General at UN Headquarters.
After their meeting, Akıncı said that Guterres was aware of the positive contribution by the Turkish Cypriot side in all processes.
Guterres’ temporary special advisor appointed for Cyprus, Jane Holl Lute’s report will be presented in mid-October and Guterres will meet both Cypriot community leaders again.
President Akıncı was accompanied by Secretary of State Cenk Gürçağ, President’s Spokesman Barış Burcu, Diplomatic and Special Advisor to the EU, Erhan Erçin and his wife Meral Akıncı.
