UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is expected to meet separately with the two Cypriot community leaders in New York later this month.
President Mustafa Akinci, who will be leaving for New York on 25 September, is expected to meet with the UN Secretary-General on 29 September.
The meeting will be held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly which starts on Tuesday.
IN July, UNSG Guterres appointed Jane Holl Lute as his temporary envoy to meet separately with President Akinci and President Anastasiades and representatives of Cyprus’ guarantor powers, Turkey, Greece and Britain, to test the waters regarding the possible resumption of the Cyprus negotiations.
