President Nicos Anastasiades and President Mustafa Akinci, will meet today in a round of meetings which have been intensified, with the aim of reaching a Cyprus settlement.
Anastasiades has said that that he felt encouraged by the progress made on the chapters that have been discussed. He noted, however, that there were important issues yet to be resolved.
He said that considerable progress had been achieved on internal cooperation between the federal government and founding states. Discussions on international treaties were continuing.
Separately, chief negotiators Ozdil Nami and Andreas Mavroyiannis and their respective teams continue to discuss federal competencies, as instructed by their community leaders, he noted.
There will be a further six meetings until 29th July, Anastasiades said.
