Producers Union Begins Indefinite Protest in Nicosia

Animal producers union protest - Nicosia

Mustafa Naimoğulları, President of the Animal Producers and Breeders Union, announced an indefinite vehicular protest in Nicosia starting today, Kibris Postasi reports.

The protest began in front of the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and continues to the Prime Ministry.

In a statement to the Turkish Agency Cyprus, Naimoğulları explained that producers from the Famagusta region (east) will gather at the Hamitköy roundabout, while those from the Güzelyurt region (west) will gather at the Gönyeli roundabout at 10:00. The producers will then meet in front of the Kıbrıs Newspaper building and proceed towards the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources via the Kyrenia Gate. Naimoğulları mentioned that the entrance and exit of the Ministry will be blocked by four or five vehicles.

After making a press statement in front of the Ministry, all vehicles will move to the Prime Ministry, where the main protest will take place. Previously, Naimoğulları had called for the determination of raw milk prices, the reduction of input costs, and the abolition of the decision to import meat.
