Rain and Storms to Continue This Week

North Cyprus News - Road washed away by rainRain and local storms continue for the rest of the week, while temperatures are expected to plunge on Sunday, the TRNC Met Office has said.

Isolated showers and local storms are expected to continue until Friday, accompanied by strong winds reaching near gale force.

Temperatures are expected to fall as low as 10 deg. C in some areas.

On Friday and Saturday isolated showers are also expected.

Later on Saturday there is a possibility of storms and snow in the mountainous regions.

Local showers are also expected on Sunday but later in the day, weather conditions should improve. Temperatures, however, are expected to plunge below seasonal average.

Heavy rainfall over the past few days have washed away or flooded roads in the İskele and Karpaz regions.

The road linking İskele and Karpaz partially collapsed near Yeşilköy, disrupting traffic in the area.

In Boltaşlı, waters washed away a section of the road that links the village to other areas.

The Met Office has urged the public to take care and try and protect their homes against damage by flooding, if possible.
