Three Syrian refugees, who had entered the country illegally, were arrested by Nicosia police earlier this week.
Yesterday, all three appeared in court and were ordered to be detained for a day while police begin their inquiries.
Police do not yet know how the refugees got into the country, although it has been established that this was not through a legal point of entry. In addition, it is not known how many refugees were involved or who brought them over to the TRNC.
