The Highways Department announced that the route from Metehan roundabout to Ortaköy will be closed to traffic from today until July 25 due to road construction works, BRTK reports.
According to a written statement from the Highways Department, only the Ortaköy side of the road between the Metehan roundabout and the Ortaköy area (Civil Defence roundabout) in Nicosia will be closed to traffic.
The road in question has been closed to traffic as of this morning as part of the road and infrastructure development works of the Presidency and Parliament Campus. Until July 25, there will be no route to the Ortaköy region from Kemal Şemiler Street (Kalın Yol) and the Metehan border checkpoint.
Drivers going in the Ortaköy direction are advised to use alternative routes via Kemal Şemiler Street.
In the statement, drivers who wish to use this route were asked to drive carefully and to obey traffic signs and signals.
