Works for the road construction of the 2.7 km road on the north side of the Derynia border crossing is under way. However, the fact that no work on the infrastructure of the road including electricity, water and computer connection has been undertaken by the Turkish Cypriot side, using its own resources, is creating some concern.
Dr Okan Dagli, spokesman for the Famagusta Initiative, stressed that it is not possible to construct the road without first putting in place the necessary infrastructure.
