Settlers complain they are unable to cross to South

Settlers from the mainland and holders of Turkish passports who live in the TRNC want to be able to cross the border into South Cyprus. They have called on both community leaders to discuss the issue at the Cyprus negotiation.

A number of settlers told Havadis that the fact that it is forbidden for them to cross contravenes their human rights and is an injustice. They also said that the only way for them to cross is to marry a Turkish Cypriot.

It is easier for them to travel to Greece than to cross over to the South, they said.
