Siber holds first presidential campaign rally

Speaker of the House and CTP-BG Presidential candidate Sibel Siber held a rally at the Ataturk Sports Hall in Nicosia yesterday evening.

The event, reportedly an emotional one was attended by 3,000 people. Opening the rally, General Secretary of the CTP Kutlay Erk expressed his party’s determination to solve the problems of the Turkish Cypriots and heralded a brighter future and an end to the Cyprus problem.

Sibel Siber said that she had heard and understood the voice of the people and that she would be a unifying president if voted in.

She said that she would lead the efforts for the Turkish Cypriot community to be recognised and heard internationally. Encouraging team spirit, she was determined to see the embargoes lifted, she promised.

She re-iterated her belief in solving the Cyprus problem by establishing a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation with political equality for the Turkish Cypriots.

Siber added that she was launching five projects to improve life for the Turkish Cypriots namely the Cyprus Breakthrough Study Group, Environmental Safety Working Group, Economic Development Working Group, a Youth Study Group and a Women’s Working Group.
