The Hoteliers’ Association president Mehmet Dolmaci has produced a press statement saying that many tourists were complaining about the amount of rubbish in the TRNC.
He said that these complaints were all over the social networking sites.
Mr Dolmaci says that we need a far more integrated policy if we aim to make the TRNC a top tourist destination and feels that most of his association are not making any money, including the large hotels with casinos. Apparently most tourists are happy with their hotels but their major complaint is the amount of rubbish they see.
Dolmaci says that another problem is seasonality. For 9 months of the year, hotels are mainly empty and during those times, small hotels without casinos just cannot compete.
