South Cyprus ministers raid own accounts ahead of bank levy

Greek newspaper ‘Phileleftheros’ accused people close to the ruling party of withdrawing 4.5 billion euros from their personal accounts – ahead of the bank levy or ‘eurozone savings tax’.

President Anastasiades promised that if and when requested by Parliament, that he would help prepare a list of those people who took part. He further said that this list would contain names of those involved from as far as two months ago.
