The National Council of South Cyprus, the highest level advisory body to the President on the Cyprus problem meets on Wednesday for a two-day session.
The Council, which comprises representatives of all parliamentary parties and former Presidents, will be discussing the next course of action as regards the Cyprus negotiations.
In October 2014 Greek Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades walked away from the talks following a navigational telex or NAVTEX, issued by Turkey last year. Following which, Turkey deployed the seismic research vessel ‘Barbaros’ to search for gas in the South’s EEZ. It then issued a new NAVTEX in January which expires on 6th April.
