Speeding Causes Yet Another Road Accident

Excessive speeding caused a three-car road traffic accident on the Famagusta-Salamis road, at 10pm on Monday.

The accident took place near the Eastern Mediterranean University, leaving one car propped against another. There were, however, no injuries.

Police continue their investigations.

In another article ‘Yeni Duzen’ reports that between 28 October and 3 November there were 54 road traffic accidents. Two people died, 21 were injured and there was 272,350 TL worth of damage caused these accidents.

The accidents were caused by: Speeding (15), driving too close to the car in front (15), not stopping at the intersection (12), careless driving (8) and other factors (4).

The number of road traffic accidents in that time frame were: 18 in Nicosia, 17 in Kyrenia, 11 in Güzelyurt, 6 in Famagusta and 2 accidents occurred in Iskele.
