Speeding kills young man in road accident

A young man lost his life in a traffic accident that happened yesterday evening on the Kyrenia- Alsancak bypass.

The accident was a result of speeding and careless driving.

Azamad Rajapov, a 29-year-old Turkmen died after the driver, Rustem Hudayberdiyev (26) who was speeding, lost control of his vehicle and struck the barrier.

The second passenger in the vehicle, Nar Murat Mammetgulyyev, (26), was seriously injured and taken to Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.

Another passenger, 25-year-old Derkarjan Charyyev, survived without any injuries.

The accident caused a long tailback towards Karaoglanoglu until police managed to remove the wrecked vehicle and clear the road of debris.

The driver, was arrested and will appear at the Kyrenia Accident Court today.

Meanwhile, ‘Yeni Duzen’ reports that Hüsnü Buğarhan, (20), lost his life in a traffic accident that took place on the Girne-Değirmenlik road last night. According to a statement made by Police Press Officer, Mehmet Karakuş, he lost control of his vehicle, when he took a corner while speeding. The car struck a barrier, overturned and caught fire. The young man died in the blaze.
