Legal action was initiated against 499 drivers as a result of police traffic inspections conducted yesterday, during which 2,421 vehicles were checked. Additionally, 57 vehicles were banned from the road, Yeniduzen reports.

Of the 499 drivers cited for traffic violations, 208 were reported for driving over the legal speed limit, 50 for using a mobile phone while driving, 38 for driving without a driving licence, 30 for driving without wearing a seatbelt, 11 for driving under the influence of alcohol, 5 for driving without insurance, 4 for driving without a licence and insurance, and 150 for other traffic offences.
