State lottery officer, Mustafa Piro was in front of the press yesterday, providing explanations for two separate issues that had surfaced recently.
The first of these relates to the lottery draw that was carried out live on January 23rd. Unfortunately, when BRT took the list and downloaded it onto its website, a number of errors occurred. In effect this meant that the winners’ listings were incorrect. The problem was compounded as other news sites used this list as their source and publicised the wrong list.
Separately, Mr Piro had to confess that the state lottery website had been hijacked and that the information on it could not be relied on. He said that attempts to shut the site down had failed, so the government would be setting up a new official website soon.
