Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the founder of Easy Jet airlines has, since 2009, been funding communal projects in Cyprus.
Over the last 4 years, he has donated 50,000 euros each to 20 entrepreneurs to help them build a successful business.
This year however, he has changed the criteria for his donations. He will now only support businesses that partner both Greek and Turkish Cypriot entrepreneurs.
He will give 10 of them 10,000 euros each in the hope that these bi-communal partnerships will foster cross border understanding.
