The TRNC was besieged by severe storms and rainfall yesterday.
Damage was caused in many regions. Trees were uprooted, roofs went flying, windows broken and electricity and telephone wires cut, leaving areas without power for many hours.
Electricity was cut off in Dipkarpaz, Kyrenia, Karakum, Lapta, Karsiyaka and Camlibel.
Tourists in Nicosia were drenched in heavy rain.
Today in Kyrenia, teams from the council Civil Defence organisation, Forestry Department and fire Department are out surveying and repairing the damage.
