Survey ship arrives in Kyrenia Harbour

A Belgian-flag scout vessel arrived in the TRNC from Turkey, in order to conduct ground surveys for the new pipeline which will transfer water and electricity to TRNC from Turkey.

The vessel named ‘Brabo’ arrived in Kyrenia on Saturday and later anchored off Guzelyurt where it began its survey of the sea bed.

Ersoy Gorkey, the Director of the Arles Shipping Firm, stated that the ship previously conducted research in the Anamur area of Turkey adding that it will remain in the TRNC for a week during which it will conduct its work under the supervision of foreign engineers. He also said that the ship had visited North Cyprus once before to carry out surveys.
