President Eroglu and Prime Minister Kucuk both attended a ceremony yesterday.
Along with various other dignitaries, they had been invited to open the Esentepe Wild Apricot Festival.
Both were on their best behaviour and restricted themselves to cutting ribbons and making speeches.
The Festival will continue until June 9th and includes teams from Turkey, India, Bulgaria and Slovenia.
There will be many cultural events, including folk songs as well as DJ produced music from the 80’s and 90’s.
June 4th will see a pop concert from Melody Music group and will be followed on June 5t by a concert by Hakki Bulut.
June 6th will see theatre plays and in the evening a Turkish Cypriot folk songs display.
