A draft law which includes regulations to increase annual operating licence fees for casinos and per-machine fees, has been approved by the Council of Ministers.
The Council of Ministers also decided to allocate resources for the construction of the first stage of the Alsancak road west of Kyrenia and for the repair of roads in six different districts.
The Higher Education Strategy Paper was also approved at the Council of Ministers meeting on Wednesday.
Following the Council of Ministers’ meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Kudret Özersay announced a budget of 10 million TL allocated from local sources for road repairs in six districts.
Özersay, said the meeting was very productive. Following legal processes, construction of the first stage of the Kyrenia-Alsancak road will soon begin, Özersay said.
The foreign minister said that the bill also includes regulations that subject permission for hotels to open casinos to the decision of the Council of Ministers. A new regulation regarding the taxation, audits and betting offices of the casinos is being prepared.
Driving Schools Charter
Regulations regarding driving schools are to become more stringent, Özersay said.
New regulations will cover driving schools, classrooms and computer systems. These will bring new obligations in the context of driver safety.
